Your village council

Kington Langley Parish Council has nine councillors, supported by a Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. Councillors represent local residents and respond to issues affecting the parish.

The council’s responsibilities include the commons, tree management, environmental policies, rights of way, allotments, defibrillators and commenting on planning applications. Wiltshire Council makes planning decisions.

The council is funded through the parish precept, collected as part of council tax. Wiltshire Council collects this precept on the parish’s behalf; it is not a grant from a County Council. Annual governance and accounts are reported through the AGAR and the applicable internal and external audit arrangements.

Conduct and accountability

Councillors follow a code of conduct and publish registers of interests. Concerns about a councillor’s conduct should be raised through Wiltshire Council’s Monitoring Officer, not the abolished Standards Board for England. Contact the Clerk for the current complaints procedure.

Council members

Nine councillors represent the parish. The responsibilities below are taken from the council’s published list. Home addresses and personal mobile numbers are not reproduced.

Broad areas are provisional descriptions, not electoral wards or visiting addresses.
